Reasoning with Descartes
Life would not be life if we doubted everything we were taught or ever perceived was true through our sense experience. I instead choose to believe that I have knowledge about something until that knowledge is tested and proven to be untrue. I cannot imagine life for me without my sense experience because if I believe that I exist. Why then can’t I trust my own senses to guide? Yes, there has been times that my perception by my senses hasbeen wrong. There have been times when I perceived a line to be straight but when tested it was slant. But so has knowledge that was reasoned to be true was proven to be untrue. Take for instance when it was believed thorugh reasoning that individuals were being infected by pellagra it was due to corn however was later proven to be a deficiency of vitamin B. Can you imagine reasoning through a green light because you were not able to trust your senses that the light was actually green and it meant you should proceed?

That sounds like a good way to proceed. I think you're right that we all tend to do this as well, we believe something until we have reason to doubt it.
